Who Can Apply?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

If you have a professional background in architecture and national or international recognition, you can apply for the Global Talent visa<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Applications are made under one of two categories:\u2705 Exceptional Talent<\/strong>\u2705 Exceptional Promise<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Application Requirements<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Some of the main requirements for the application are:\u2705 Be over 18 years of age,\u2705 Have a strong professional background in architecture,\u2705 Be supported by RIBA or hold a prestigious prize,\u2705 Have no barriers under the Immigration Rules.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

RIBA Approval Criteria<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Your application is examined carefully by RIBA<\/strong> and assessed against the following criteria:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2705 For Exceptional Talent Applications:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

  • You must have achieved significant international recognition<\/strong> in architecture within the last 5 years.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • This recognition may include:\n\n\n
      \n
    • Independent news coverage, articles or reviews published in two or more countries<\/strong>,<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • A nomination or award in prestigious international architecture prizes<\/strong> (for example, the Pritzker Prize<\/strong>, the RIBA International Prize<\/strong>, the Venice Biennale of Architecture Award<\/strong>),<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Exhibition of your work in world-renowned exhibitions<\/strong> (for example, the Venice Architecture Biennale<\/strong>, the World Architecture Festival<\/strong>).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

      \u2705 For Exceptional Promise Applications:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

        \n
      • You are expected to show a record of an emerging career<\/strong> in architecture within the last 3 years.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      • The following are considered important evidence:\n\n\n

        • Recognition in the national or international press<\/strong>,<\/li>\n\n\n\n
        • A nomination or award in national or international competitions<\/strong>,<\/li>\n\n\n\n
        • Exhibiting work in recognised exhibitions<\/strong>,<\/li>\n\n\n\n
        • Success in prestigious awards for young architects (RIBA Silver\/ Bronze Medals<\/strong>, AIA Young Architects Awards<\/strong>).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

          Documents Required for the Application<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

          The main documents you need to prepare to strengthen your application:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

          \ud83d\udcc4 Professional CV<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

            \n
          • Should detail your entire architecture career and educational background,<\/li>\n\n\n\n
          • Should clearly state the dates (by year) of all your work.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

            \ud83d\udce9 3 Letters of Recommendation<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

              \n
            • Two letters: should be obtained from recognised architecture organisations that are leaders in their field of expertise (at least one should be UK-based).<\/li>\n\n\n\n
            • One letter: should be from an expert individual in the field or from another architecture organisation.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

              • International media recognition,<\/li>\n\n\n\n
              • National or international awards,<\/li>\n\n\n\n
              • Inclusion in prestigious exhibitions,<\/li>\n\n\n\n
              • Strong evidence such as award and achievement documents should be submitted.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

                Application Process and Timing<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

                \ud83d\udccc Applications are open all year round.\ud83d\udccc RIBA usually completes the approval process within 6\u20138 weeks<\/strong>.\ud83d\udccc After approval, the Global Talent visa application must be made within 3 months<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

                How Long Is the Visa Granted For?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

                \ud83d\udcc5 You can request a visa of between 1 and 5 years.\ud83d\udcc5 The length you choose may affect the health surcharge you need to pay.\ud83d\udcc5 There is no English language requirement<\/strong> or requirement to show a bank balance<\/strong> in this visa category!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
