The Purpose of This Visa Application
This route is for students who has successfully completed an undergraduate or post-graduate education programme at a higher education institution in the UK. You have to have accomplished your education at a higher education provider with a track record of compliance. You also must have a valid student visa to be able to apply.
Graduate Visa Route
When you have successfully completed your undergraduate or post-graduate education programme through your valid student visa, you may be eligible to work in the UK by the graduate route. If you have graduated from an undergraduate or master programme, you can stay up to 2 years in the UK in order to work. If you are a doctoral student, you can stay up to 3 years by the graduate route. During your stay, you can search for a job that is suitable for your education, experience and expertise, after which you can start to work in the UK.
You can consider the graduate visa route as a continuation of your valid student visa. However, you are, of course, expected to apply for the visa to the Home Office. The visa application must be made inside the UK.
It is not possible for you to apply for the settlement route by the graduate visa. However, you might be eligible to switch to the Skilled Worker visa if you find a suitable job. You can check our Skilled Worker Visa page or request information from us for more details.

Costs
There are 2 different main issues that you need to consider in terms of finance:
- The amount to be paid to the British Government as a Visa Application Fee
The application fee is £700. - Additional fee to be paid to the British Government for health services
This fee is determined as £624 for each year of stay. For example, if you are applying for a 3-year visa, you must pay 624 x 3 = £1872 for health care. To complete your visa application, you must complete the healthcare payment stage.
