Architecture

You may apply for the Global Talent visa based on your achievements in the field of architecture. Applications made under the Global Talent visa in the field of architecture are assessed by The Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) on behalf of Arts Council England.

The applicant must have been working regularly in the field of architecture within the past five years and must possess internationally published works deemed “exceptional” by RIBA. These works must be recognised in at least two countries.

As part of the application process, the applicant must submit three letters of recommendation that highlight their achievements in architecture, leadership potential, and expected contributions to the United Kingdom, along with up to ten pieces of evidence from the past five years. This supporting evidence may include international media recognition, international awards, and international publications or exhibitions.

For international media recognition, the applicant’s work must have been published in at least two different countries within the past five years and must be regarded as “significant” by RIBA.

If the applicant has won or contributed to at least one international award within the past five years, this can also be included in the application. Examples of such awards include the Aga Khan Award for Architecture, the Venice Biennale of Architecture Awards, and the AIA Young Architects Awards. This list is not exhaustive.

Finally, if the applicant’s work has been published in monographs by international publishers, featured at festivals such as the World Architecture Festival, or exhibited in curated exhibitions such as those at the RIBA Gallery, this evidence may also be submitted.

Such work must be considered “internationally significant” by RIBA.
