Applicants seeking to apply for the Global Talent visa in the field of fashion must demonstrate the potential to be recognised as having Exceptional Talent or Exceptional Promise within the United Kingdom. Required Documents and Evidence:

As part of the application process, candidates are required to submit the following:

• Three letters of recommendation.
• Up to ten pieces of evidence relating to achievements within the past five years.

Exceptional Talent Criteria:

Candidates must provide at least two forms of evidence demonstrating international recognition. These may fall under the following categories:

• International media recognition: Significant reviews or articles published in two or more countries.
• International awards or sponsorships: For example, prestigious awards such as The Fashion Awards, Elle Style Award, or LVMH Prize. The submission must clearly state the award name, year, and the applicant’s role.
• International fashion shows or exhibitions: Participation in events deemed of international importance by the British Fashion Council.

Global distribution and sales: Detailed documentation showing the applicant’s work has been sold through international retailers (e.g., top-selling stores and sales history).

Exceptional Promise Criteria:

Applicants under the Exceptional Promise route must provide strong evidence in at least two of the following categories:

• International media recognition: Coverage of work in national publications across two or more countries.
• Support or sponsorship: Backing from the British Fashion Council or other international organisations (e.g., participation in initiatives such as the Newgen programme).
• Sales to luxury clients: Documented orders or sales through luxury retailers or boutiques.

Industry recognition: Evidence that the applicant’s graduate collection has been acknowledged by notable industry figures or platforms.

This visa is open to fashion designers, stylists, fashion photographers, fashion managers, and costume designers. It also includes textile specialists working on innovation and sustainable materials, as well as fashion editors and writers, and curators of exhibitions and runway shows.
In addition, sustainable fashion experts developing eco-friendly fashion processes, as well as footwear and accessories designers, may apply if they can demonstrate evidence of international recognition.

Global Talent Visa Application Cost

Application Fee:

The total fee for a Global Talent Visa application is £766. If you are applying based on an endorsement, this fee is paid in two stages:

• £561 at the time of your endorsement application, and
• £205 at the visa application stage.

If you are applying on the basis of an eligible award, you must pay the application fee of £766 in full at the time of your visa application. In addition, if you are including your spouse or children in your application, you must pay £766 for each of them separately.

Immigration Health Surcharge (IHS):

As part of the application process, you will be required to pay the Immigration Health Surcharge. This fee is currently set at £1,035 per year, per applicant.
